Cardiac Physiologists (Basic Grade - Locum) - Co. Tipperary

Cardiac Physiologist required for basic grade locum role on behalf of an acute hospital in Co. Clonmel, Co. Tipperary. This role offers an immediate start for a minimum 6 month period.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain excellent experience in a well-supported environment.

Duties of the post will include:

Assisting and performing all procedures provided by the department, including ECG, Holter Monitoring, stress testing and Echo.

Interpretation of tests, preliminary reporting and alerting medical staff to any serious anomalies.

Assisting in maintaining departmental procedures and protocols including infection control and general lab hygiene.

Participation in patient care i.e. preparation and reassurance of patient

 

We are ideally looking for candidate with ECHO experience, however, training will be provided.

Interested candidates are required to:

Possess a Degree in Clinical Physiology / Clinical Measurement Science or a  Certificate in Medical Physics and Physiological Measurement (Prior to 2005) or other equivalent third level qualification appropriate to Physiological Measurement Science (Diploma/Degree etc) as deemed equivalent by the IICMS.

Ideally have some post graduate experience working in a non-invasive setting

The ability to perform and interpret ECHO is desirable

Cardiac Physiologists (Temporary - Basic Grade) - Limerick

Applications are invited for the position of Basic Cardiac Physiologist.

The Cardiac department carries out a wide range of  non invasive investigations including ECGs,Stress Exercise Tests, BP monitors,Holter monitors,transthoracic echocardiograms ,Dobutamine stress echoes and pacemaker and ICD/BiVent, Loop checks.

The physiologists provide technical support in the invasive Cath Lab for diagnostic and interventional procedures ,IVUS, OCT FFR, IFR studies, Balloons pump and Impella, Pacemaker and ICD, Bi-Vents, Loop implants, and TAVI procedures.

Requirements: Possess the BSc in Clinical Measurement Science or equivalent.

Be a member of the Irish Institute of Clinical Measurement Science.

Have knowledge of ECG interpretation and Stress testing.

Experience in Cardiac Cath Lab desirable.

Excellent interpersonal communication skills.

Training will be provided in all the above if required.

Successful candidates will be encouraged and supported in further education.

Respiratory Physiologist (Basic Grade) - Cork

We are currently recruiting for a Basic Grade Respiratory Physiologist to join our team at Mater Private Cork where we offer a complete range of tests and treatments for lung disease and other related illnesses.

The successful candidate will will provide diagnostic services to patients with respiratory illness and deliver a specialist service to those patients.  Working with the multi-disiciplinary team and Respiratory Consultant the Phsyiologist will play a pivitol role in the development of this service.

Candidate Requirements

Possess the BSc in Clinical Measurement from Dublin Institute of Technology or equivalent.  Or possess the Certificate in Medical Physics and Physiological Measurement from Dublin Institute of Technology or eqiuvalent.

Experience in Quality and Audit and accreditation is desirable.

Excellent Communication Skills in addition to extensive clinical and managerial experience.

Cardiac Physiologist - St James's Hospital

Respiratory Physiologist (CPL - Senior) Cork

Senior Respiratory Physiologist required for an acute hospital in Cork.

The Senior Respiratory Physiologist will have a be responsible for and have a key role in providing a high quality diagnostic service in the Respiratory and Sleep Laboratory of a leading acute hospital, Cork.

The main duties for this role will be:

Conduct a full range of standard non-invasive respiratory diagnostic tests including:

Spirometry

Reversibility studies

Lung Volumes by gas dilution methods

Lung Volumes by Body Plethsymography

Diffusion capacity

Maximal inspiratory and expiratory pressures (MIP &MEP)

Conduct a full range of diagnostic and therapeutic sleep tests including:

Full Polysomnography

Split night sleep studies

CPA titration

Limited sleep studies

CPA follow -up

Calibration and maintenance of all equipment which includes sterilisation/cleaning, where necessary.

Role Summary: Under the general direction of the Consultant Cardiologist or other duly authorised Officers,

the Physiologist will undertake the duties appropriate to a Cardiac Physiologist, subject to the supervision of the Chief II /Chief I Cardiac Physiologist.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: The Physiologist should be familiar with the techniques and range of equipment used in current medical practice for the diagnosis,

treatment and care of cardiac patients. The major portion of the work commitment of the Physiologist is with the Cardiology Department

and in addition the holder of this post will be required to carry out and participate in a wide range of medical procedures.

A complete understanding of all such procedures and an ability to make accurate measurements is essential.
